After removing a further 10 cm of soil and rocks it was found that 1:1 Feature 1 continued to exist. Inside this feature were found fragments of cloth and modern glass. It is apparent that this feature has a modern origin. The soil col- our within the feature remained the same as the previous spit, as did the rest of the unit’s matrix.
To the north of the this feature a collection of closely placed sandstone chips became more defined, almost forming a kind of pavement just to the southeast of the sandstone disc.
Ceramic sherds from this spit were recov- ered from the screen (cat. 310 and 312).
