In removing a further 10 cm it was determined that the scatter of sandstone to the southeast of the sandstone disc was subsumed by the larger feature (1:1 Feature 1) to the south. Around the stones an area of dark reddish brown (5YR 2.5/2) soil was apparent. The rest of the unit’s matrix was yellowish red (5YR 4/6). A whetstone (cat. 304) was discovered just be- low the sandstone disc at this level. Three ceram- ic sherds recovered from the screen (cat. 310) and five sherds were found in the general spit of the entire unit (cat. 312). Five more sherds were found in the northeast corner of the unit (cat. 318).
